OVERVIEW

What is a bunny line reduction?

Bunny line reduction is a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of injectable neurotoxins, such as Botox, to minimize the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles that form horizontally across the bridge of the nose, resembling bunny scrunching its nose. These lines, also known bunny lines, can develop due to repeated facial expressions or natural aging. By strategically injecting neurotoxins into the muscles responsible for creating these lines, the treatment relaxes the muscles and smoothens the skin, resulting in a softer and more youthful appearance.

Does this treatment work on fine lines?

bunny line reduction treatments with injectable neurotoxins are generally effective in minimising the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles on the bridge of the nose. By targeting the muscles responsible for creating these lines, the neurotoxin temporarily relaxes them, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance.

DETAILS

What results and level of aftercare are expected?

The results are generally noticeable within a few days to a week after the treatment. While some individuals may see initial improvements sooner, the full effect of the treatment becomes more apparent up to 2 weeks after treatment.

Afterwards, it is best to leave the treated area alone for up to 6 hours after treatment and sit upright, to allow for the product to settle effectively in place. This will also help to reduce the risk of bruising or swelling spreading to other areas. Heavy lifting, excessive sweating and use of alcohol need to be avoided for the first 24 hours.

What are the side effects of this treatment?

Common issues may include pain, bruising, and swelling at the injection site, along with possible redness and headaches. Muscle weakness, particularly in the treated area, can occur due to the temporary paralysis induced by the injections. Choosing a skilled and experienced healthcare professional for the procedure is crucial to minimize risks, and any concerns should be discussed at your consultation.

Determining suitability depends on individual health, medical history, and aesthetic goals. Generally considered safe, these injections are suitable for many people seeking to reduce facial wrinkles. However, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, those with certain neuromuscular disorders, or allergies to ingredients in the injections may not be suitable candidates. A consultation with a qualified healthcare professional is essential to assess individual eligibility, discuss potential risks, and tailor the treatment plan to specific needs and expectations.

Results from injections can be noticeable shortly after one session, with initial improvements in skin smoothness and reduced fine lines. However, the full effects of the treatment may take a few days to a week to become apparent. While individual responses vary, repeated sessions are often advised for maintenance, typically every 3-4 months, to sustain the desired outcome.

Treatment is known to be comfortable treatments for clients to undergo. In some cases, some slight discomfort may be felt but this is usually very minor and our clients do not often feel the need for anaesthesia, as needles used are very fine.

A review appointment after anti-wrinkle injections is often recommended but not always mandatory. It allows the healthcare professional to assess results, address concerns, and make any necessary adjustments. This is usually done within 2-4 weeks post initial treatment.
