What is used for this treatment?

Neurotoxins, such as Botox, work by hindering the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for signalling muscle contractions. When administered to particular muscles, it disrupts the communication between nerves and muscles, resulting in a temporary paralysis of the treated muscle. This treatment proves effective in averting the exaggerated contractions of overactive muscles, ultimately preventing sagging mouth corners at rest, which lead to a downward looking smile in some cases.

How does it help with droopy nose lift?

In this non-surgical cosmetic procedure, small amounts of botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) are strategically injected into the underlying muscles dynamic around the mouth to achieve a lifting effect. It helps alleviate the downward pull and contributes to a more lifted and balanced appearance in the smile. The treatment is carefully tailored to achieve a natural and subtle result, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the smile.

When are results expected? How about level of aftercare?

The effects typically become noticeable within a few days to a week post-treatment. Although some people may observe initial improvements earlier, the complete impact of the treatment is most evident up to two weeks afterward.

Following the procedure, it’s advisable to refrain from touching the treated area for up to six hours and maintain an upright position. This allows the product to settle effectively. This precaution helps minimise the potential for bruising or swelling to extend to other areas. Additionally, it’s recommended to avoid heavy lifting, excessive sweating, and alcohol consumption during the initial 24 hours after treatment.

What are the side effects of this treatment?

Broadly regarded as safe, these procedures typically result in temporary side effects. Common experiences include mild pain, bruising, and swelling at the injection site, along with possible redness and headaches. Temporary muscle weakness, particularly in the treated area, may occur due to the induced paralysis from the injections. It’s important to note that selecting a skilled and experienced healthcare professional significantly reduces potential risks. Any concerns you may have can be thoroughly addressed during your consultation, ensuring a confident and informed experience.

Determining suitability depends on individual health, medical history, and aesthetic goals. Generally considered safe, these injections are suitable for many people seeking to reduce facial wrinkles. However, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, those with certain neuromuscular disorders, or allergies to ingredients in the injections may not be suitable candidates. A consultation with a qualified healthcare professional is essential to assess individual eligibility, discuss potential risks, and tailor the treatment plan to specific needs and expectations.

Results from this treatment can be noticeable shortly after one session, with initial improvements in skin smoothness and reduced fine lines. However, the full effects may take a few days to a week to become apparent. While individual responses vary, repeated sessions are often advised for maintenance, typically every 3-4 months, to sustain the desired outcome.

These injections are known to be comfortable treatments for clients to undergo. In some cases, some slight discomfort may be felt but this is usually very minor and our clients do not often feel the need for anaesthesia, as needles used are very fine.

They are generally safe when administered by qualified professionals. During a consultation, individual concerns and risks can be discussed for a confident decision. We only use licensed and FDA approved product by Allergan, BOTOX, which has undergone much research and development over recent years. A review appointment after anti-wrinkle injections is often recommended but not always mandatory. It allows the healthcare professional to assess results, address concerns, and make any necessary adjustments. This is usually done within 2-4 weeks post initial treatment.
